Procreate for beginners starts at the very start: you open the app and have no idea what to tap. Sound familiar? You bought Procreate, saw a gallery and a few icons, and closed it again. That’s where we pick it up.
What you learn in Procreate for beginners
Making a canvas and the gestures you use every day, like undo with two fingers. Picking a brush and setting size and opacity. Layers, so lines and colour stay separate. Selecting, flipping and straightening. And saving in the right format, with your timelapse as a video.
How the lessons work
Each module has steps you do on your iPad straight away. Then a few test questions, the mistakes nearly everyone makes and a checklist. Read on your phone, draw on your iPad. Stop whenever you like. The lesson waits for you.
What you need
An iPad with Procreate. An Apple Pencil helps, but you don’t have to have one. You can draw with your finger too. Nothing else: the brushes that come with Procreate are enough.
And then?
After this course you know the buttons. That’s when it gets fun. Most people go on to seamless patterns in Procreate or to finding your own drawing style. Both build on what you learn here.
